the newborn experience

There’s nothing quite as magical as a newborn baby. Their scent, their angelic sleepiness, their fuzzy cheeks, their tiny toes. Those first few weeks of new motherhood are both blurry and blissful. When the newborn stage quickly ends, you’ll struggle to remember all those sweet details. Let me bottle it up for you in artful photographs.

I want you to remember this stage forever.

my newborn approach

natural, baby-led posing

No forced poses that look uncomfortable for the baby. My newborn posing focuses on natural body dynamics, while listening to baby’s cues as to what is comfortable for them. The goal is to keep baby happy + relaxed so the session goes smoothly.

family centered

Yes, newborn sessions are focused on baby but should also be centered around your family as a whole. I love to capture the new connections and bonds formed between your new baby and your family members. So, expect to be snuggling baby for most of the session.

stress-free

I provide everything you need. Quite literally. From dresses for mom, outfits for siblings, all the accessories baby needs, sound machines, to even diapers, I’ve got you covered! I’m even an expert in that mama rock for soothing baby so you can relax. Don’t worry about a thing.

versatile

I am happy to provide a variety of different location options for your session. Newborn sessions can take place in my cozy home studio, in the comfort of your own home, or outdoors (depending on season and weather).

safe

My priority at all times during our session is baby’s safety. This is why I only do natural, comfortable posing. I am also CPR certified, a Registered Nurse and a mama of two myself.

Heirloom artwork

How often do your digital images just stay on your computer or phone? The images I deliver are meant to be artwork you can display. I am passionate about getting albums and prints into your hands and homes to pass down for generations.

“We booked newborn photos with Lauren in her studio. Two weeks after having a baby I felt sleep deprived but somehow Lauren works her magic and the results are beautiful! The studio is perfect! It’s cozy and provides so many different options for your photos. Also, her client closet options are stunning. It took so much stress off being able to choose one of her beautiful dresses. I am beyond thrilled with the results of our shoot. We will definitely treasure the photos forever!”

frequently asked questions

I recommend booking once you enter the second trimester.

The sweet spot for newborn sessions is between 5-14 days so they are still super sleepy and easy to settle. However, newborn sessions can be booked up until baby is 6 weeks old.

Newborn session investment starts at $650. For more details, you can view my investment page here. It will explain what your session includes and the price. I require a $150 non-refundable deposit to save your date.

I always leave flexibility in my schedule to accommodate early or late births. Just send me an email when baby arrives and we will work together to change your session date.

Newborn sessions can last anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on how many family members and baby’s mood.

I provide mostly everything you need. If you give your baby bottles, I recommend bringing a couple of them to help soothe baby and get them sleepy. Also, bring a pacifier if you give those as well.

I will provide you with a Newborn Session Prep Guide to help make the most out of our time together and to enhance the flow of the session.
